Jason Walker, a Beloit native and fellow softball fan, has had heart disease for most of his life. At 47 years old he went in for an anticipated heart valve replacement/repair surgery. Doctors were going to replace his aortic valve now and work on his mitral valve later. Jason came out of the surgery with no complications. He was alert, sitting up and even walking around a little.
On Thursday March 18, 2021, after facetiming his wife and visiting with his dad, Jason collapsed. Life saving measures were applied but unfortunately, he could not be saved. The tissues around his new aortic valve could not support the new valve and basically his heart burst. This was unexpected and devastating news to his wife, Amy, his daughter, Jacey and the rest of his family and friends.
Jason has been a big softball supporter since Jacey started playing many years ago. He was always her biggest fan. Jacey has played/subbed with many teams in the area, she was the starting pitcher for her high school, Beloit Memorial and now plays for the 18U Bandits. Jason was always there cheering for Jacey and her team.
We want to do something to help the Walker family in their time of need. They have suffered an unimaginable tragedy and while nothing can make this any easier for them, we want to show our support. Please help support his family by ordering now during the 2021 Championship for Charity Shirt Preorder.
A portion of the entry fees & t-shirt sales, as well as the raffle basket proceeds, and any donations will go to the family.
Thank you so much!!
